I spent quite much time in the 90's sitting in front of my trusty old Amiga making tracker music. Then I grew up, got kids and forgot about making music.

A few days ago I decided to pick it up again, got ReNoise 2.0.0 (since I like trackers) and begun.
A few days later. This is the result. Please remember that this is the first time I use this software, the very first time I have even looked at VST instruments and the first time in 12 years I've composed anything.

It seems I'm a fast learner ;-)

--------------------------------
Info about the song:
Name: Primeiro
Software: ReNoise 2.0.0
Release date: 2010-07-27

Originally I tried to create something that would sound somewhat like Oxygene 8 but it evolved into something more similar to Chronologie 4 at the end I believe.

All sounds (with one exception) are free Soundfonts, VST instruments and public domain samples.

The phaser strings is the pk_eminent_310_unique_strings soundfont downloaded from www.perkristian.net routed through the Warmer Phaser by Nomad Factory.

The melodic strings are the VSTi Stringer - Noisy Solina.

The lead is the lead sound from Oxygene 7 actually. However reverbed and delayed some.

The spatial plings in the last half of the song is from the VSTi Crystal called Move Along (somewhat tweaked),

The high energy bass in the last half is from another VSTi called Noisie (from Odosynths) - GATE:ana.

The effects are mostly made manually with filtering of white noise and bending of existing sounds.

In total, I use 13 different samples, VST's and soundfonts in this song.

Please listen and provide feedback.
/Totta

P.S. Does anyone know how to reset the LFO in the Odosynth VSTi Noisie? It's totally random where it begins each time I start the song which makes the bass get out of sync 9 times out of 10 which makes rendering of this song practically impossible. Had to do a "sound card capture" instead.
