    Nice....

I might be wrong, but wasn't it the Houston one that was up for sale before? this is listed as the Lyon one.. But I would have to admit it, a lottery win (and a very understanding wife) and I would. . . no really. . .

was it used in both concerts? i know this seller i have dealt with him many times before, i also know what he paid for it and it was very reasonable although he had to do a lot of restoration on it, still its got to be the ultimate item to have for a collection and im jealous lol,

    wow

Now really, how much electronics are we talking about ? Beside looking funny in the leaving room where else can you store this thing ? It sure looks like a bar booth where you can serve margaritas near the pool.

If I were to choose I will go for the Theremin or Laser harp, much more adequate since these are still used in concerts.
    I was there...

In some ways, I'm sad that jarre didn't continue to use ridiculous-shaped keyboards and keytars. I loved the audio-visual concept these brought to his concerts, but then again, it only benefited the video recording, since the audience wouldn't get an aerial view of the stage. very often.

particularly in Docklands (though I've only seen clips), where the curvy board appears to be a part of the stage.

If I had more concert gigs, then I'd definitely jump for that sucker. such a cool piece of machinery. an Icon of ages past.

Its actually not that much - you can pick up a midi scanner circuit for £30 - £50 from places like Midi boutique, then its just a question of taking a single wire from each key to the input of the scanner... may sound complicated, but it really isn't.

    Theremins? Not a problem
http://www.dv247.com/keyboards-and-m...elf-kit--52364 ... OK so that's for the "build it yourself kit", but you can buy them fully assembles from the same place.

As for the laser harp - OK, so I admit it, I am a nerd... mine is up and running now. Again quite easy to get the basics working (see midi scanner above).

I am with you on the curved keyboards though - loved them. OK, so I know Mons. Jarre wasn't really playing anything on the big light up thing in Houston, but it looked SO COOL! And you are right, it really was for the video - but what's wrong with that? Love the big Docklands one too, yes it was part of the stage, and even me, hanging over the barriers at the front couldn't see it

I loved the two keytars he had there, almost distressed things, made to look old already. One of them almost looked organic, I loved it - and then went out to buy my own and ended up with a Yamaha SHS10... not even close.

The massive curved keyboard for EIC was pretty cool too, but not a patch on Docklands/Lyon/Houston :-)

    That is so cool!
I might see if i can get it for £1...... after all, i won a copy of Granges on ebay for the same amount.... mind you, the seller did refuse to honour the deal (and got very nasty too) so maybe it won't be worth it....

I agree... as much as the "live" Jarre is light years ahead of the bad-ole days, I still wish for the LAG Innovart instruments and flashing lights and the like... it would give the already iconic current tour an even more iconic feel.. imagine the Calypso III solo on that curved remote from the Docklands? And anyone remember the remote designed for the "doomed" Mexican shows? Now that was an incredible looking instrument....
