Yes - you can, Glenn can, and nobody on SoF is stopping even me from speculating for what it's worth, but SoF can't announce it as fact until AP confirm it.

For the Athens concert on 1st june it was possible, an update from 21st march on the website:

The extra date added is an Indoor Concert, in Athens’ Faliro Pavillion Tae-Kwon-Do (Olympic Tae-Kwon-Do Stadium), Greece on June 1st 2010, although, at this moment in time, this has not been officially confirmed by Jean Michel Jarre’s Management.

So why is this possible for the Athens concert, and not for the Oslo concert ? Once more again, I still think you can't keep the news away, and not following AP as you are a slave....

the only reason we have listed Athens on our website is because it was listed on OFFICIAL posters for upcoming dates for the tour...

essentially, we can NOT be held liable for posting information that could potentially fall through. It's happened before. We announce a concert for a date, as tickets are on sale, then the date gets cancelled or re-scheduled and a LOT of fans get ****ED OFF because they have booked their hotels and flights/travel arrangements and cant get refunds...

what about that date at the start of the tour? That got pushed back to MAY!!!

NO SHOW IS 100% CONFIRMED AS GOING AHEAD UNTIL AP AND WHOEVER ELSE SAY SO - JUST BECAUSE A CONCERT IS ON SALE WITH TICKETS DOES ---NOT--- MEAN A CONCERT WILL GO AHEAD. ANY CONCERT DATE IS ALWAYS SUBJECT TO CHANGE (USUALLY WITH TICKETS BEING VALID FOR A RESCHEDULED DATE)

and NO, there is still no information on www.jeanmicheljarre.com OR and i repeat OR on Royksopp's official website either! check http://royksopp.com/events if you don't believe me...

did any of you stop to think that there may be some underlying issues at hand here that may be preventing themselves from annoucing the concert officially? Do you also think that maybe, MAYBE just that the promotors of the concert (not the organisers or management) may have jumped the gun and put the concert tickets on sale before they should have done????

think about it please.... as ive said above, do you want to go and buy tickets for a concert, as well as flights and hotels and then have the concert moved to a different date or cancelled? you guys will then be complaining to us here at JarreUK/Space of Freedom, and Jarre's management etc etc that we said it was going to be on a date and then it wasn't and then holding ourselves liable for giving out incorrect information...

i am now closing and unsticking this thread until further notice, until the concert is OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED!

Hello Friends,

JARRE UK has received a lot of criticism over the last few weeks with regards to us not publishing "unconfirmed" information about the Oslo Concert, despite tickets going on sale, and announcements in the media, and there have also been accusations of "censorship" by Aero Productions, and that JARRE UK should go ahead and publish this information with or without their consent.

JARRE UK can confirm, that as of today, the Oslo Concert scheduled for August 28th 2010, is NOT a confirmed Concert by Jean Michel Jarre's Management, as there are still negotiations ongoing with the promoter. However, we have been advised that Jean Michel Jarre's Concert is very likely to take place at the time and place advertised, but the structure of the event may not be what is currently advertised.

As a result of this, JARRE UK will still refrain from publishing any information on the Web-Site until all parties involved in this project have everything agreed and signed and sealed. This is not "censorship" from Aero Productions, but a choice by JARRE UK not to mislead Fans who may purchase tickets, then pay for flights and hotels, only for the event to be moved to another location, date or even cancelled. This kind of incident has happened before with the Powerstock Festival (which JARRE UK spent months trying to get refunds for Fans), and even more recently with a change of date for the Liberec Concert this year.

In light of us refraining to post this information, JARRE UK has been accused of "double standards", as we posted information about the also "unconfirmed" Athens Concert, shortly after tickets went on sale. JARRE UK has already explained that the reason we went with this article, is the fact that the Concert was advertised on Official 2010 Merchandise i.e. Poster, and we had prior knowledge of this Concert from a member of Jean Michel Jarre's Crew, but more importantly, the article did stress that the Concert had not been officially confirmed by Jean Michel Jarre's Management at the time of writing.

Adding this disclaimer was indeed a good decision by JARRE UK, since Aero Productions have informed us today that the reason why the Athens Concert has not been confirmed by them for June 1st 2010, is because negotiations are still ongoing with the promoter, with a possible date change likely for this Concert too.

Therefore, in retrospect, JARRE UK admits it may have made a wrong decision to publish information (even with a disclaimer) for the "unconfirmed" Athens Concert, and for this we do apologise, especially to those who were confused as to why we would publish one "unconfirmed" Concert and not another "unconfirmed" Concert.

However, Jean Michel Jarre's Management have assured JARRE UK today, that as soon as both the Oslo and Athens Concerts are completely "confirmed" (hopefully by next week), then we will be provided with all the information needed to supply to Fans, so please be patient with us and respect our decision at this time, to withhold information that we believe may do more harm to Fans than be a benefit.

Well said Dunks, and I personally wouldn't see it as double standards at all. Quite frankly, anyone who wants to spend the money on an unconfirmed concert can just go ahead as far as I'm concerned. These things have happened so often with JMJ's management that we should all be taking it with a pinch of salt.

Some people obviously have far too much time on their hands if slagging off JarreUK is all they can do.

I think it is always a risk of booking a flight and hotel, even when the concert is confirmed by Aero Productions, it can always get cancelled, for any reason, no matter what.
