yes, this is on sale today, but as at the time of writing, Aero Productions have still yet to confirm this event, or even Jarre's involvement...

i just hope it doesn't go the Powerstock route...

Robin, this promotor brought Jarre successfully to Norway in 2008 and 2009 for soldout concerts. They know Aero Prod. and AP knows them. The contract with Jarre has been ready since early February, and it's not really a festival event like Powerstock or Roskilde. It was actually "only" a Jarre concert to begin with, and then the festival grew up around Jarre. There hasnt been a festival there before, or like this one before. It was created solely because Jarre was coming, but the promotor wanted something extra. I am sure AP will confirm in due time. They're probably busy with Paris and the final French concerts now.

Local gigs are negotiated with a UK broker anyway, or local agents working with that broker, so AP isnt even handling the day to day negotiations for all concerts.

guys, no offence, but Dunkie has been in contact with Aero Productions, and they themselves have said that they do not want to confirm JMJs involvement until they are ready, and this is why ALSO that they themselves have not confirmed the show on their own official website at jeanmicheljarre.com

as we have a policy to NOT confirm anything ourselves until Aero Prod can 100% confirm themselves that a show is definitely going ahead, we wont put anything on the website until then.

i understand that it's on a lot of websites, so was Powerstock etc, and Jarre was confirmed for that show also until it fell through. As we don't want to go through the same problems we and other fans had with that show, please do not push us to go ahead and confirm something ourselves until we've been given the 100% confirmation to go ahead with information on the website

and as for AP being busy, yes they are, but they themselves have said they don't want to give the 100% confirmation just yet until further notice.

I call this a bad organisation, ticket sale have already started, and one of the artists management can't confirm it yet. What about the management of Röyksopp ? Have they confirmed it ? Ticketsale started too soon ?

It's a very good policy that Robin & co. have, to not publish this kind of news when AP has not confirmed it to them. And AP also has a good policy when they want to be 100% sure before they confirm on their website.

What we cannot ignore though, is the blizzard of media attention this announcement got in Norway in most of the major news places. It wasnt a rumour, it wasnt a plan, it wasnt Jarre talking about wanting to do a concert on the North Cape as he has done before - it was a defacto announcement by JMJ's own representative in Norway. This concert has been negotiated in the same way as every other concert in the tour.

No wonder AP want to check things from their side. They dont always know about new concerts in tours like this until they are told about them from their agent or the local promotor. So it's a perfectly natural work process for AP to confirm when they are ready.

If you look at the tours in 2008, 2009 and 2010, afaik no concerts that were announced by promotors before it was confirmed by AP were cancelled. At least I dont recall any such incident. It only means that promotors sometimes work faster than AP on the announcements.

Glenn, you said the contracts have signed in february, but not with AP then ? Next week it is april, took a long time to announce this.

And what should you do as Jarre fan, buying a ticket or not ? Once AP can confirm it, the show might be sold out already.
