Smile Custom framed and unframed laser harps

    Hi everyone !

I just joined the forum and wanted to share what i do for a living, that is building one-of-a-kind custom laser harps! :-)
I have been building framed ones for the last16 years, since 1990, with from 8 to 32 lasers. I use low powered 5 mw red and green lasers ( safe for public interaction), with a custom software and midi/sound/visuals/media controller set-up that can respond to breaks of the laser beams up to 70 times per second.

I am working on designing and testing a way to build unframed laser harps with the same low powered lasers, that will also make use of the incremental analog effects that the software can provide, producing volume and pitch changes depending on the point where the laser beams are broken.

I will write more next week when I get back into town. Check out my web site and let me know what you think !

I've had some ideas for my own laser harp that I'd like to experiment with. I've had a design for a different kind of beam splitter, and the only way I've been able to imagine it working at all is with JMJ's new style of harp, with the mirror at waist-height. (does he still use that, BTW? I haven't seen any of his concerts since Merzouga) anyway, let me know if you want details on my ideas. I don't want to bother posting them if no one wants to hear 'em.

    And welcome to the forum!
