I think I have to agree with Lee on this.

As stated, it's not like the disc is going to sell millions, but it's marketed towards us, ie the Jarre fans. BUT why not release the DVD?

So what if it's not remastered or in surround - as Lee says, we're all gonna have to download the concerts illegally or buy bootlegs from ebay just to preserve our dying VHS. In fact, my dockland vhs died ages ago

If it was going to sell millions, it would be worth remastering and perhaps mixing in 5.1 - but that ain't gonna happen, and neither is any other release by the look of things.

FD would have done this release in amateur way, that's why JMJ said stop on this. Agreed with him entirely!
That is another question why JMJ does not buy the rights regarding every concerts, making them release without any cut, with extras, so on so on...

It kinda looks to me if dreyfus want to use jarre licence as an cashcow.
From now on I won't buy Dreyfus related stuff only Aero stuff, or stuff that jarre himself supports.

Evidently, to Lee and Robbie, not that it really matters anymore, it's been at least 22 years ago since the concert. As for the argument, it seems Lee's become a little paranoid. While I can't exactly argue either position, my personal belief is that Jarre tends to stand for principal, and he doesn't strike me as a money making whore out to make a quick buck, nor a person who allows money making whores to order him what to say or do, nor a person who composes for anything below his own standards, being an artist. I suppose all I can extract from this is, I'm an optimist, Lee's a pessimist, I take the statement, like as it seems most of you all on the forum, as it is, he takes it as a coverup.

Hmmm, confused now - when I bought it, it said it was in stock and ready to deliver.

They all do it Cathy - they say it's in stock to get you to order it, then when you order it it magically becomes out of stock...

I've never seen it in stock with my order because I ordered it before the release date - it went direct from Will be released on 13/10/08 to out of stock.

Always knew 13 was unlucky!!!

so obvious... well, dont worry guys, i have that NTSC Houston Only VHS, and im going to convert to DVD very soon and put online.. so you will enjoy almost exact the same as Dreyfus try to sell us..

Jean Michel Jarre's Management have confirmed to JARRE UK today, that Francis Dreyfus Music's planned release of Jean Michel Jarre's Record-Breaking 'RENDEZ-VOUS HOUSTON' Concert on DVD throughout Europe, has been OFFICIALLY CANCELLED yesterday.

Do you have any "official" reaction from FDM ? Would be interesting to hear both sides of the story...
