    Poll for unreleased material

In light of the live Bourges audio being released on iTunes, do you feel that Jean Michel should look into releasing other unreleased material in this format? for example, the music from Palawan, any unreleased tracks and b-sides from Metamorphoses (eg. The Sun), or any studio versions of existing live tracks (such as Acropolis for example)???

    Un-released material

    Hi,

I think jarre should release some of this material, most die hard fans of his would buy it I think. What also would be good is if the older concerts that were originally released on VHS could be re-released on DVD.

He may release everything he want online, but not in that crappy 128kbps format on iTunes, I hope...

    Rare stuff

In a commercially point of view, Jarre could release previously unreleased tracks. But also tracks that didn't make it to a new album, of 'beta' versions of songs are interesting. The problem with all the 'bootleg' stuff, is the quality. I assume that Mr. Jarre stores his earlier compositions/recordings somewhere in good quality. Why not release it. I know he only wants to release music that's perfect in his eyes. He doesn't want to bother fans/people with music that he is not happy with. But I like his musical style. So what if it's an experimental 'jam' session (like Bourges). I think fans will buy it. I will anyway ...

An artists commercial appeal to a mass market may inhibit the release of more experimental works (e.g. le Printeps de Bourges) that may scare off faithful consumers from future works.

I think with the advent of downloading music with little mass promotion needed then this might make an sideline for material to be available for those who truly seek and would appreciate it.

MFSM remasterd from the original one off vinyl and a snippet of information explaining the history wouldn’t go a miss methinx.

A decent version of the Oxygene '97 tour and Okinawa wouldn’t go amiss too perhaps.

I would like to hear some of his unreleased material just to see how his working style is! I mean if we could listen to some early versions of well-known music pieces we could get a better look inside of his music!
