I'm another one who likes Equinoxe better than Oxygene, both excellent of course but I prefer Equinoxe. Would be great to think that he would tour with it one day, unlikely though....Oxygene has always had a much higher profile than Equinoxe (or Magnetic Fields, which completes the holy trinity of Jarre albums for me).

2008 - Oxygene Tour - The Royal Albert Hall, London

I also find Equinoxe to be better than Oxygene. The holy trilogy for me is Oxygene, Equinoxe and Zoolook. Those are the albums where Jarre truly broke new ground and they also show him at his most innovative. All of those albums have a playfulness about them that none of his other work comes close to.

I'm one of those who feel that Jarre got lost after Zoolook. He has even said that himself in several interviews. While I certainly like a lot of the stuff he did between Zoolook and Oxygene 7-13, I think it was a period where he was more concerned with creating soundtracks to his shows than experimenting with music. I think that other people and artists who hate his music is thinking about this period as well. Too bad, because I think if they opened their ears to the holy trilogy, they would be surprised

However, the best composition he has ever done is IMO Arpeggiator. What a fantastic track! A perfect example on how you create a catchy track with sounds in stead of melody.

    Arpeggiator!!!!!

    Eureka!

Thats it! Arpeggiator for the Oxygene Tour! Why not? They would have all the necessary equipment wouldn't they? Most of the earlier analogue synths had built in arpegiators and the sweeps towards the end (and the studio finished solo) would be great to hear live.

It would also be a great challenge to perform live.

    My two cents worth anyway....again!
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe....

Personally I find Equinoxe a better album that Oxygene – I feel that Jarre developed the ideas he had with Oxygene to the next level. I to like the first 4 albums. Magnetic Fields is fantastic but it's not as coherent as the first 2 albums - the first 2 feel like they are themed around nature where Magentic Field is clearly about technology and the city. ZooLook was so out there, and I love this album, but it must of backfired for Jarre. It was a commercial flop. I wish he had continued to take risks and chances with his music but after ZooLook I felt it was all about being commercial and composing for the big shows.

Chinese Concerts is a goody to.

Of course, opinions are always subjective, but music is not only technique. It is, above all, INSPIRATION> Equinoxe is a masterpiece, indeed, and one of the best electronic albums ever. But, in terms of inspiration, in no case Equi is better Oxygene. It lacks that PRIMITIVE MAGIC of Oxygene. Equinoxe, also, is more terrestrial music, albeit atmospheric, but Oxygene is other-wordly music, something that goes beyond any composer;s imagination. It is a landmark in contemporary electronic music.......

    i agree

i agree but i think he should do a remixed version with contributions from various electronica artists a bit simular to say oxygene 7-13 a continuation so to speak
MUSIC IS LIFE AND SO IT WILL EVOLVE LIKE US ALL JUST LIKE JARRE HAS DONE OVER TIME

No, we want JARRE, not the remixers. I think it's time again for JMJ to do his own, not what the industry or the clubbers would like.

Personally, I'd rather have a new album than more annivesary releases. If JMJ concentrates on re-releasing all his old albums to co-incide with all the relevent anniversaries we'll be celebrating 30 years of TEO & TEA before you know it (heaven forbid) 8((
