Post Destination Docklands 20th Anniversary Special Edition - Petition

SoF member Daz suggested a petition to try and get a DVD produced of the Docklands Concerts as next year will mark the 20th anniversary of this concert.

(From a personal point of view, I was just discovering JMJ at the age of 17 and really wanted to go, but couldnít!)

We, the undersigned, would like all relevant people who currently hold the copyright licences to the Jean Michel Jarre concert ìDestination Docklandsî to get together and find some common ground to which all parties will benefit from the release of a DVD of this concert.

All Jarre fans have expressed a wish for this concert to be released on DVD (along with others like La Defense, Houston etc)...

Our proposal would be to produce the following ñ of course ñ these are just some ideas:

DVD Title: Destination Docklands - 20th Anniversary Special Edition

    Contents:
    • FULL Concert without any track cuts
    • Audio: Best possible with audio commentary track
    • Concert Rehearsals
    • Interviews with musicians, key personnel, stage construction staff, ex-Newham Council staff
    • The Making of Destination Docklands
    • BBC Radio Broadcast Audio
    • Press Cuttings (Gallery)
    • Fan Interviews
    • Fan memories of the concert (Video Interviews / or text)
    • The Docklands Today ñ A documentary on how the area has been regenerated
If you have any other ideas, please post them below.

    Best Regards,

    Darren Shaw.

I was at Docklands, only 14 years old, I will never forget what I witnessed that night. A real spectacle.

Spot on Lee. I'd definatly get it.
Carlsberg don't do concerts, but if they did........

    Thumbs up Would be great!

Destination Docklands was the very first concert of any artist I attended & it blew me away! A FULL release to mark the 20th anniversary would make my dreams come true. Surely the footage is there somewhere even though it may not be the best, look at 12dots! Please consider all possible options but make it the FULL concert.

    Great idea.
I'd agree wholeheartedly that it would have to be the FULL concert.
I was there, but it was difficult to see the minute details on the concert stage itself, although the view I had at the grandstand was perfect for the overall large scale effects - fireworks, skytrackers etc.
I'd love to see the the cristal baschet instrument that was played on 'Tokyo Kid' - you can see this instrument on the original 'Jarre Live' CD, or on the 'Concert D'Images' book cover.

Good idea, but the idea of a full concert release doesn't appeal to me; the original cut is beyond suck (Oxygene 4 anyone?). But then again, a full concert is always good.

If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire Teo & Tea

It gets my vote, a full concert SE would be nice.
